Behind the Scenes: Filming Our First Head Spa Movie with Nelbyspa
It began with a physical challenge: carrying 175 kg of equipment up two flights of stairs. Once in position, the Nelbyspa massage bed was connected to water and electricity, standing ready to play its role. The setting was intimate, the atmosphere expectant — all that remained was the arrival of the hairdresser and the model.
For the film director, there was a certain tension. Not knowing either participant beforehand added to the sense of anticipation. As soon as they arrived, the team carefully checked every detail: props in place, the bed’s functions tested, and the lighting selected. Candles were lit, creating a soft glow, and the opening shot was composed.
From there, everything began to flow. With carefully chosen music setting the tone, the session unfolded naturally. The Nelbyspa revealed its purpose — transforming a simple wash into a deeply relaxing ritual. The combination of hand techniques and cascading water delivered an intense head and shoulder massage, and it was clear from the model’s expression that the experience was both soothing and immersive.
The filming process progressed. The stylist worked with ease thanks to the bed’s ergonomic design, while the model enjoyed comfort and relaxation. Scene by scene, the benefits of the head spa treatment were captured: the calming effect of water flow, the tactile comfort of the bed, and the ambiance that could transform any salon into a wellness space.
By the end, the director had more than enough material. A few weeks later, after editing and refining the narrative, our very first head spa movie was complete. The film showcases not only the technical and aesthetic qualities of the Nelbyspa, but also the emotional dimension — the way it creates a true moment of well-being for both hairdresser and client.
